I love animals. Pretty much all animals.
Over the last 30 years I have been on a quest to find kind, intuitive and peaceful ways to work with animals.
As a child I sat with my ponies under the willow trees in my pasture wondering about them.
I sat and read to my ponies and dog. I learned to ride and escaped to the forested river trails close to our farm,to just BE and enjoy the adventures. These animals taught me so much. They still do.
As an adult, I operated an 80 acre guest ranch - Seasons Ranch, a teaching and training facility carved out of the sandhills of Western Manitoba. I learned and taught the modalities of horsemanship mentioned above. I raised and trained some gaited horses - Tennessee Walking Horses and Missouri Foxtrotters. I taught clinics in several Canadian provinces and parts of the USA.
My teaching program, Freedom Horsemanship encompassed teaching students how to improve hoof health, communicate on a deeper level with horses, learn liberty and horse agility.
Still, there was a piece I felt I was missing in my understanding of how horses truly think and feel.
Then 4 years ago I came across the Trust Technique online. Thus began my journey of delving into
the "missing links" in my education.
In March, 2020 I was accepted into their 2 year college program. I gratuated early, in December, 2020 becoming the second person in Canada to be qualified as a Trust Technique Practitioner for large animals (domestic or wild). It was a very intense and fascinating year of study. Incorporating this method into what I already teach will bring help to animals and their humans in very significant ways. New levels of trust and confidence will reveal itself using the Trust Technique in all they do with animals. It only adds to the enjoyment and teaching abilies with animals. I am very excited about the good it will bring to the animals and people I will be teaching. It will open up their minds, bring peace, increase their love and regard for all animals.
As I am a Clinician and Judge in Horse Agility, I am planning to put on some clinics and shows this year, if restrictions regarding Covid will allow horsemanship events, and we all feel safe enough to gather.
My husband Dave and I live in St. Malo, Manitoba, Canada. We are owned by two dogs, Mya and Tucker, and our cat Cassy. My horse pals are Zoie, a 15 year old Foxtrotter Mare, and Buddha - a sweet miniature gelding. My spare time is taken up by enjoys riding, hiking, meditation and learning. My husband and I also enjoy singing, songwriting and guitar playing together.
Currently, due to Covid restrictions, I only offer on-line video link Consultations and Presentations via Phone, Messenger, Zoom or Skype. I also offer online consultations in hoof care, liberty training, horse agility, and animal communication with your animal.
